A traditional Thai music instrument is the khim which was adopted end 19th - begin 20th century (Rama VI) from the Chinese Yangqin.

The Chinese version has a West-European origin (the dulcimer).

The khim is a 42 brass string instrument, trapezoidal in shape, played using flexible bamboo sticks with a soft leather tip.

On the pictures above, the Thai ladies Neko and Khim, the teachers, performing at a festival in the Temple.
